Rotary Drum concept, How and Where?

Rotary Transfer systems are extensively used throughout the retail and security industry. The concept of the Rotary Transfer system came from Security specialist Tony Dowden and pioneered by Johnson Security.
Tony Dowden inspiration came from a Carmelite Monastery in France.
It is a closed order and had no visual or physical contact with the outside world. Visitors and Nuns used this medieval turn (a wooden drum) that had one opening to pass things backwards and forwards. This concept
later become known as the Rotary Drum and pioneered by Johnson Security, it's now used through out the security and retail industry. They say the simplest designs are the best and this was certainly one of them...

Our security door can be manufactured to G2 Ballistic standards or resist physical assault. In our extensive product range we are sure you will find a suitable door for you. Its operation can also be remotely controlled if required. A multi-hook bolting mechanism ensures additional security.

A unique construction system that allows a highly secure unit to be installed in difficult sites where access, space and weight are critical limitations. This no-compromise, highly effective unit can be installed rapidly by our trained engineers. The strong-room's construction has been proven to resist most known attack tools, including slice arc and diamond drills. Easily demountable for relocation, the size can be increased or decreased as required.
The screens and transfer stations provide appropriate levels of protection against ballistic and physical assault and are available in a choice of anti-bandit and anti-ballistic standards.
Controls the interlocking of gate, door and transfer hatch systems. Indicates faults and provides controlled ability to bypass the interlock.
Ballistic protection to British Standards, covering resistance to most common ballistic threat levels; from a 9mm handgun to a 7.62 NATO ball. Armour materials used include steel, aluminium, GRP and Kevlar.
